Matt Codd

Matt runs pricing strategy, technology and owner relationships at Hooray Stays. He builds the systems behind the company’s guest communication, owner statements and direct-booking site, and he is the person owners reach at (832) 224-6713. Matt writes many of the owner guides on the Hooray Stays blog.

Carissa Codd

Co-Owner

Carissa co-founded Hooray Stays with Matt and co-hosts every property the company manages. Together they oversee guest experience, property standards and the local teams that keep each home ready for the next stay.

Our story

Owners first, managers second

Matt and Carissa started out as hosts of their own rentals before Hooray Stays managed homes for anyone else. They began in California and expanded to Texas in 2022, where they now own and operate their own vacation rental on the Gulf Coast and manage homes for other owners from their base in Katy.

That order matters. Because they pay platform fees, cleaners, repair bills and hotel taxes on their own rentals, they built Hooray Stays around what they wanted as owners: a commission calculated on net nightly revenue rather than the gross booking, consumables that are not marked up, a person reviewing prices every day, and someone who actually walks through the house.

How we operate

We treat every home like it is our own, which is also our motto.
No call center for owners: you deal directly with the people who own the company.
Every guest signs a rental agreement and provides ID before arrival.
We visit managed homes in person every quarter.
We tell owners the truth about what a property can earn, including when we are not the right fit.
